Who We Are
The CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming Branch is a value based agency belonging to a national organization comprised of 120 Branches and affiliated with a provincial network consisting of 35 Branches. The National Office and Ontario Division provide Branches with advocacy information, lobbying updates, social policy/research, and legislation proposals regarding mental health/mental illness.
The CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming Branch is an incorporated charitable organization under the management of a volunteer Board of Directors.
CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming Branch receives funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the Ministry of Community and Social Services, the Ministry of the Attorney General, the Porcupine United Way, donations and fundraising events. Specific one time grants have also been received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines, the Ontario Women's Directorate and various other provincial and federal funding bodies.
The Branch has been designated under the French Language Services Act (Bill 8) since 1992.
