Housing Services

 

The Canadian Mental Health Association Cochrane Timiskaming Branch provides a variety of housing opportunities and support services to assist individuals with a history of serious and persistent mental illness to secure and maintain permanent, safe, affordable and high standard housing.

Housing Support Services are designed to assist individuals to live with stability, autonomy and dignity in the community.

The Branch provides help to persons with mental illness who need support in obtaining suitable housing.

 

Supportive Housing provides individuals the opportunity to enhance their quality of life through the development and maintenance of independent living skills, personal skills and coping skills.

Homelessness Initiative Program

Funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, the Homelessness Initiative Program (HIP 2) aims to develop housing spaces and supports for people with serious mental illness who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless through the provision of rental subsidies. Applicants may refer themselves to the program or be referred by family or friends, mental health or social agencies, by hospitals or other sources.
